Installing cpShop at Dreamhost Page 3

Now we'll set file permissions. This tells the server how to utilize and access each individual file.
Commonly, when there are install problems with cpshop, it is incorrectly set permissions.

First we want to select ALL files EXCEPT: cpadmin.cgi, index.cgi.config and index.cgi.

Click the CHMOD button.

On the next page you will see a list of permission settings.

Because we are setting the exact same permissions for all of the selected files,
the only settings you need to worry about are those at the very top of the page.

Mark the checkboxes for:

Owner - Read and Write
Group - Read
Everyone - Read

Click the Set All Permissions button.

You should now see ALL lists of permissions have the same settings.

Save your changes, click the GREEN CHECKMARK.

Return to your main directory, click the BLUE ARROW .

Next select cpadmin.cgi and index.cgi
originally named cpadmin.cgi and cpshop.cgi

Click the CHMOD button.

Mark the checkboxes for:

Owner - Read - Write - Execute
Group - Read - Execute
Everyone - Read - Execute

Click the Set All Permissions button.

You should now see BOTH lists of permissions have the same settings.

Again, to save this change, click the GREEN CHECKMARK.

Then to return to your main directory, click the BLUE ARROW .

Now, select index.cgi.config
originally named cpshop.cgi.config

Click the CHMOD button.

Mark the checkboxes for:

Owner - Read - Write - Execute
Group - Read - Write
Everyone - Read - Write

Again, to save this change, click the GREEN CHECKMARK.

Then to return to your main directory, click the BLUE ARROW .
